No one knows where the fascination with small words actually started.
Mono has always been a Couch/Winner's Choice topic, then AC adopted it
as her ONE topic of choice when she won a round. Slowly but surely
the popularity spread and "The Caveman," our most popular event, was
born. We went on to play one night of Mono acro a month for fun and Hedgie took her place beside AC on the bandwagon. Now, in Hedgie's
Igloo the second Friday of every month at 8:30, you'll find a whole
room of mono acro lovers. No rankings are kept, it's just for fun.
Recaps of the games are posted
at the
Forum.

Player submission: Schmaltzed and strengthed appear to be the longest monosyllabic
words recorded in OED; but if squirrelled is pronounced as one
syllable only (as permitted in SOED for squirrel), it is the longest.
